Phillip Island

Phillip Island is situated 140km south-east of Melbourne, and is home to the world famous fairy penguin parade – a spectacle that takes place every sunset when these adorable penguins come inland to rest overnight in the sand burrows. Visitors get front-row seats for this performance form the observation boardwalks of the visitors centre. Phillip Island is also host to the Australian Motorbike Grand Prix and the Australian Super Bike Championships – tourists can take a walk around this internationally renowned circuit. The Phillip Island Nature Park works in association with the Fairy Penguin Parade and the Koala Conservation Centre to help preserve the island’s abundant nature and wildlife.
