Gordon River Travel Information

 

The Gordon River runs through the forests of the Franklin Gordon Wild Rivers National Park. The Gordon is calm is comparison to the ferocious Franklin River on which visitors can white-water raft. Tourists can take a leisurely cruise along the Gordon River, stopping off at Heritage Landing to explore the dense forests of Huon Pines. These particular trees grow only in South and West Tasmania and some specimens are over 2000 years old. The entire course of the Gordon River is uninhabited wilderness area.
