New South Wales Travel Information

New South Wales offers a multitude of sights and activities, combining both city explorations with hinterland discovery. Sydney, with its Opera House and Harbour Bridge, is world renowned as a sophisticated and cosmopolitan destination, but just two hours west is the Blue Mountains – a World Heritage listed National Park which boasts dramatic cliffs, caves, canyons and wildlife. The Hunter Valley offers taste-testing sessions in its many vineyards, whilst Tropical New South Wales is a vast area for exciting nature exploration.

Sydney
Sydney is a modern, cosmopolitan city home to world famous landmarks such as Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House, 37 beaches, a vibrant nightlife, and excellent shopping opportunities.

Hunter Valley
Situated north of Sydney, the Hunter Valley offers world-class wines, delicious food, gourmet eateries, romantic retreats and rural farmstays.

Broken Hill
Broken Hill, also referred to as 'the silver city' is located in the middle of the virtually uninhabited New South Wales Outback, and is a mining town full of green parks and gardens.

 

The Blue Mountains
Situated west of Sydney, the Blue Mountains is a vast area of mountainous forest land featuring great walking tracks and famous landmarks such as the Three Sisters rock formation.

Byron Bay
Byron Bay is a cultural and bohemian beach resort which is home to lush rainforests, fine dining, beautiful beaches and a relaxed way of life.

Canberra
Canberra is Australia's capital city, and is the location of both old and new Parliament Houses, the National Gallery and the Australian National Library. Lake Burley Griffin is the city's central point, and is named after the city's designer - Walter Burley Griffin.
